ASW on an exciting journey as an IB MYP Candidate School!

We are happy to announce that ASW is currently a candidate school for the Middle Years Program (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate! For students aged from 11 to 16, this interesting, as well as rigorous, framework aims at fostering critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Students will study a broad range of topics through the MYP, such as language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, math, arts, design, and physical and health education - all from a global perspective.

As an MYP candidate school, we are dedicated to provide our students with an engaging and challenging curriculum that equips them for lifelong learning as well as responsible citizenship in an increasingly interconnected world.

Becoming an accredited MYP world school is a process which expresses our dedication to meeting IB standards and being able to extend our educational offer even more.

We're excited to be part of this international learning community and we invite you, too, to be a part of it with us.

WHAT SETS US APART

TEACHING AND LEARNING

Our International curriculum is based on American Common Core Standards.  The Common Core focuses on developing the critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills students will need to be successful. It also sets guidelines of measurement so we can determine how students are progressing towards the expected learning outcomes.

Our Polish Program is based upon the Polish Core Curriculum. The core curriculum defines curricular contents, aims and knowledge, skills and competences which pupils are expected to acquire by the end of primary education. The curriculum is based on learning outcomes, individualized teaching and learning, and emphasizes active learning and problem-solving.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

We recognize that each member of our community is an individual, with particular gifts and talents as well as specific challenges and needs. The American School of Wrocław offers a curriculum based on the Polish National program (developed by the Ministry of National Education & Sports) and the American Core Knowledge curriculum (developed by Core Knowledge Foundation, USA). The main goal of our program is to provide high quality, bilingual (Polish-English) holistic education for children to help them become lifelong learners and active members of the modern world.
